    Antique 1906-08 ELEANOR FITZGERALD ESLEEK Scrapbook Smith Womens College Student. In rough condition. Shows considerable age wear - see pics. The spine is missing. Pages are tattered and brittle. Some items are glued in and some were put in using pins. Some items have been removed or fell out, several loose notes and cards. Eleanor Fitzgerald hailed from Hempstead, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of a Surrogate Court Judge. While at Smith college, she was involved with the theater, and the scrapbook includes many theater bills and newspaper clippings talking about shows. There are five different newspaper's articles about a murder/suicide involving a fellow student who had refused a marriage proposal. The scrapbook ends in 1908 with several blank pages left. Eleanor married Irving Esleek and they welcomed their daughter Elizabeth on August 29, 1908.
