Dragonflies- Art Tile

This beautiful Dragonflies tile brings back memories of peaceful summer days and a simpler time.
My tiles are all done in the Arts & Crafts tradition and I learned my centuries-old techniques at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works in Doylestown, PA.
I personally create every tile that I sell. I carve my own designs and make open-faced plaster molds for production. I press clay into those molds one at a time. The resulting tiles are air dried for 10 days and then fired in my 1970's manual kiln for 12 hours. The bisque tiles are now ready to glaze. I apply three coats of colored glaze and two coats of clear glaze and fire them again for an additional 12 hours.  The result is beautiful!!
This tile measures about 4.25 inches square and is about 3/8 of an inch thick.    It is hand painted with my soft green satin glaze.  All of my tiles are frost proof and safe for outdoor applications.
