” around the outside of a wreath, with “
Not – One – Cent – For Tribute.
” in the center.
Comments:
This Hard Times token is in very nice original condition, with nice even wear. The fields are really nice, but there is a slight bit of dirt in some of the letters. There is some rub / wear on the high points due to normal handling and storage. It has not been cleaned and has nice original chocolate brown color.
This HT 46R / Low 31R is the 1837 / 1857 over date, or plugged “3” variety.
Obverse
: the end of the ribbon is under the “U” of Unum, and the bottom curl is just above the “7”.
Reverse
: 4 berries on the outside and 6 inside. There is a tiny dot just after “Tribute”. The wreath is wide with wide leaves, that fills up most of the reverse.
This “Millions For Defence” token will make a great addition to your Hard Times token collection.
