Pgasteelers1 - E Bay seller since 1998.
I am selling collection of Misc. U.S. tokens & medals.
Hard Times Tokens were isued between 1837-1844 for circulation by private companies & not the US Mint.
These tokens are listed in the Hard Times Catalogue with both the Low Number  & the newer H.T. number
This is Low # 47a & HT#66a - Rarity 2 - Medal Copper - Size 28mm
This one of the Patriotic  series
Obv.  Bust of phoenix rising from the flames "Substitute For Shin Plasters Novr. 1837"
Rev.  wreath "Specie Payment Suspended / May Tenth 1837"
Token is circulated  & minor corrosion
NOTE: The the variety with both sides facing the same when turned  and not like the US  coin facing in opposite directions
